The Golf Society within Castleknock Tennis Club is an extension to the many other attractions provided by the Club.  Many tennis players migrate to playing to playing Golf when their Tennis playing days are over, and we have a large number of 'Friends of Castleknock Tennis Club', both Ladies and Gents, who play in our outings.

In 2013, two outings were held, in Luttrellstown and Castleknock.

Results of Castleknock Tennis Club outing to Castleknock Golf Club, Friday 9th August:

The second and final outing of 2013 was held in Castleknock Golf Club on 9th August. On a fine day for Golf, 42 players attended.  The outing was won by Eugene Daly, who, playing of a Handicap of 9, accumulated 46 points, went round in 1 under par, to secure a famous victory.  Tremendous scoring.  The Ladies Section was won by Gill Phelan, who had 35 points, Gents Class 1 by Willie Fitzgerald with 43 points, and Gents Class 2 by Ben Connellan with 41 points. Golfing friends of the Tennis Club, for 2013 the Golf Society has trimmed the numbers of outings to 2 instead of the traditional 4, both on Friday afternoons - Luttrellstown on 19th July and Castleknock 9th August.

No Captain or President are in place for 2013 but it is hoped to rectify this in 2014.

We had an excellent turnout of 41 Players for the first outing. On a lovely day, some good scores were in evidence, not least by a surprised winner!

2012 has marked a period of change for the Castleknock Tennis Club Golf Society.  Four outings were scheduled during the year but following poor attendances at our first two outings in Castlewarden & Castleknock our third outing in Rathcore was cancelled.  However, we had a very healthy turnout of 47 players for the final outing of the season in Luttrellstown on 11th August.  We hope the Society will continue in 2013.  If you have any queries / suggestions please contact me at 0868384789, or by email Ben.nh.connellan@gmail.com.

Captains (Leo Keogh's) Prize, Luttrellstown, Sat 11th August:

The final outing of the season was held in Luttrellstown Golf Club (Leo Keogh's Captains Prize) on saturday 11th August.  47 played on the day with no less than 20 guests in attendance. 

The Outing was won by Paul Tobin with an excellent 38 points, just shading Willie Fitzgerald who won Class 1 with the same score. Cormac Dunne won class 2, Angela Toal won the Ladies and Chris Singh won the Visitors. Full results below.

Presidents (Dennis Markey's) Prize, Castleknock, Sat 26th May:

A modest turnout of 18 played in this outing on a lovely afternoon in Castleknock. Given the small numbers prizes were awarded from 1st to 4th positions only. It proved to be very competitive however with all 4 winners on 37 points, with Joe Lynch prevailing with 21 points on the Back 9.

Results of Golf Society Final Outing, sat 3rd Sept to Castleknock Golf Club

Saturday 3rd Sept saw the final outing of 2011 for the Castleknock Tennis Club Golf Society, Kevin Fitzgerald's Captains Prize.  38 played on the day and we followed up with the Captains Dinner that evening in the Golf Club.

Well done to Ray Dolan who, playing in only his second outing in the Society,landed the Captains Prize with an excellent score of 39 points.  Mens class 1 went to Joe Lynch, Class 2 to Pat Holmes, and the Ladies winner was Deirdre O'Farrell.
