Hi everyone,
Please find below results of our final outing of the year held sat 4th Sept in Luttrellstown.
You can scroll down for previous results.
38 people played on the day, and while 3 early morning participants persevered through the most inclement weather, the afternoon weather improved considerably and some healthy scores were returned. Indeed it was a tribute to the drainage within Luttrellstown that we were able to play at all. Approx 30 people attended the Captain’s Dinner, also held in Luttrellstown that evening. Captain Pat Holmes thanked everyone for their support during the year and the post meal singsong was led by Norbert ‘Jerusalem’ Kellett, and Ciaran ‘The Trout’ MacDiarmada.
Well done to our winner Eugene Garrihy 43 points, with Leo Keogh in 2nd on 41 points. Class winners as follows: Ladies Freda Gallagher 33 points, Mens Class 2 Fred Tier 40 points, Mens Class 1 Paul O’Gorman with 39 points. Joe Lynch claimed his sixth Golfer of the Year title with an extremely healthy average of 34 points for all 4 outings.
Special mention to our DUGSA (inter Golf Society) Team of Dennis Markey, Leo Keogh, Chris Kinsella, Norbert Kellett, Paul O’Gorman & Ray Devlin. This keenly contested Foursomes event is held every year, and having successfully negotiated the qualifying round in Corrstown, the team finished just out of the prizes in the final, also held in Corrstown on just about the worst golfing day weatherwise of the whole year! Well done gents from all in the Society.
We are looking to arranging a couple of weekday outings next year, and will keep you posted in due course.
Regards & enjoy your Golf for the rest of the year,
Ben Connellan, Hon Sec.
Hello once again. Well a lovely day was had by all at our 3rd outing of the year in Killeen Castle, Dunsany, Co Meath on sunday 27th June. Many thanks to Rory Toal for arranging to get this beautiful course on our itinerary – it should prove a great venue for next years Solheim Cup. Despite many counter attractions on the day, a healthy 36 turned out, and many favourable comments were passed on the condition & layout of the course. With Barton Shield matches also taking place, many tricky pin positions were in evidence, so scoring proved quite challenging. Congratulations to our winners therefore – Phelim Kelly who played very steadily to win the overall with 35 points, Class Winners – Ladies Angela Toal, Mens Class 2 John McDonald, Mens Class 1 Joe Lynch. Prizes for the Killeen outing will be given out at our final outing (Captain, Pat Holmes Prize)Sat 4th Sept, In Luttrellstown. I look forward to seeing you all there.
